Bangladesh Railway operates special parcel train for agricultural goods

Bangladesh railway has started operating special trains to carry agricultural goods and essential items on Dhaka-Chattogram-Dhaka, Dhaka-Dewanganj-Dhaka and Khulna-Dhaka-Khulna routes. The first train started from Chattogram on Friday to bring vegetables, food item and other perishable what to Dhaka. The Dhaka-Chattogram and Dhaka-Dewanganj trains will operate on a daily basis as the Khulna-Dhaka train will run thrice a week.

Freight services between Dhaka and Chattogram have remained suspended from March 29 following the Inland Container Depot (ICD) at Dhaka ran out of space to store the products. Passenger train services have been suspended since March 24 to contain the spread of Corona virus in the united states.
