Merck Animal Wellbeing acquires Poultry Sense flock-health product company

Merck Animal Health features completed its acquisition of PrognostiX Poultry Ltd., which does business as Poultry Sense Ltd., from its founding shareholders.

The Madison-based unit of Kenilworth-based Merck said in a news release that it first committed to the health and environmental monitoring solutions company serving the poultry industry in 2019. Financial conditions of the acquisition were not disclosed.

“We are very happy to take this step forward with the acquisition of Poultry Sense Ltd., as we continue steadily to broaden our portfolio with complementary goods and technologies to progress animal well-becoming and outcomes for our customers,” Rick DeLuca, president of Merck Animal Wellness, said in a well prepared statement. “We have now should be able to provide enhanced health insurance and environmental monitoring technology to the poultry industry, which increases our technological expertise within our livestock monitoring businesses with beef and dairy cattle, and aquaculture, strengthening our leadership in shaping the continuing future of animal health.”

The U.K.-centered company provides improved technology for poultry farmers to track and analyze health performance for his or her flocks. The company’s goods will now are categorized as the Merck Animal Wellbeing Intelligence operating device, a newly-produced specialty division.
